About Ligia Bernardo
As the Vice President of Legal for Olam Agri\'s Americas Region, I lead the legal function for a global leader in food, feed, and fiber in high-growth emerging markets. With over 20 years of experience in civil and common law jurisdictions, I am fully licensed in the States of New York and Texas, as well as in Brazil, and have a strong background in international business law, corporate and contracts law and M&A. I support senior management and leaders of various commodities and functions in the Americas, providing strategic business advice and legal guidance on cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments, intellectual property, and other matters. I set up and developed the legal function from scratch to support the Americas business operations, overseeing all legal matters for the Americas group of companies. I also worked at Fortune 10 automotive corporation and Am Law 5, where I honed my skills in complex and high-stakes negotiations and deals. My mission is to enable and facilitate the growth and success of Olam Agri in the Americas region, while ensuring compliance and risk management.
