ABOUT LIESL HOOD

Liesl Hood is a highly driven, results-generating senior quantitative/data analyst with 3 years\' experience in the retail banking industry, as part of the Product and Customer Value Management team, monitoring and reporting business performance and challenging strategies/processes, using mathematical, statistical and data analysis tools, in order to effect change within the business. She has successfully built a machine learning probability model/scorecard to proactively segment the Unsecured Lending Collections portfolio and identify risky customers, in order to initiate an appropriate customer treatment strategy based on the customers\' payment behaviour and risk levels, with the purpose of protecting the business assets by minimizing credit losses while also using the most cost effective mechanisms. She has worked with a range of stakeholders across business. She combines her banking experience with 8 years’ experience working within teams, exceeding technical design and development goals and objectives in the engineering industry. She is a registered professional process engineer, passed Level of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program in 2018 and holds a Honours degree in metallurgical engineering (distinction) as well as a Bachelors degree in chemical engineering (1st class). She has excellent interpersonal communication skills and work quickly and accurately in highly pressurised environments. She is an analytical problem solver with a critical eye for finer detail and constantly strive for excellence.
