Stepping away from the corporate world into the voluntary sector was a conscious choice, one driven by a passion for making a real impact. With a background spanning hospitality, event management, customer service, internal communications, training, and people development, I bring a wealth of experience to my role, ensuring that ostomates (people living with a stoma) are at the heart of everything we do.🟣 Championing Ostomate Rights & Awareness – As Chief Executive, I lead our strategic planning, campaigns, and projects, ensuring our work reaches and supports as many people as possible. I work closely with our office team, volunteers, and trustees to deliver essential services and advocate for meaningful change.🟣 Expert in Accessibility & Non visible Disabilities – I am passionate about making public spaces, policies, and infrastructure more inclusive. I deliver Stoma Aware training to organizations and charities, helping them recognize and accommodate non-visible disabilities in their policies and environments.🟣 Driving Change in Aviation & Infrastructure – For the past 7 years, I have worked in aviation accessibility alongside the Civil Aviation Authority, Department for Transport, and major UK airports, ensuring that travel is more inclusive for those with a stoma and other disabilities. I currently sit on the advisory groups for Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, Luton, Edinburgh, Bristol, Cardiff, and Cornwall airports to improve accessibility standards, I am a critical friend to these airports.🟣 Co-Chair for Stansted Airport Accessibility Forum – In my role as Co-Chair, I work closely with stakeholders to enhance accessibility at Stansted, ensuring the needs of passengers with disabilities including those with non visible disabilities are fully considered in airport policy, infrastructure, and customer experience.🟣 Industry Leadership & Advisory Roles – I actively contribute to steering and advisory boards for Stoma Care Companies, sharing my expertise to improve products, services, and policies that directly impact ostomates’ lives.Above all, I strive to make a difference that lasts not just for the benefit of Colostomy UK, but for every individual who deserves to live without barriers. I bring boundless energy, a hunger for continuous learning, and a drive to create real, measurable change in accessibility and inclusion.Let’s connect and collaborate to build a more inclusive world!
