About Liang Dong
I am a Mechanical Engineer proficient in manufacturing, mechanical product design, and systems control (PID/MPC/LQR). At school, I was an active member of an electric motorcycle team called BuckeyeCurrent, which is a racing team founded by two undergraduate students of the Ohio State University. I worked on the team for two years. In the first year, I played the role of cooling system project captain and joined the 2017 PPIHC race with the team. My focus in the second year was designing a new double-link suspension system for the motorcycle. In my senior year of undergraduate, I did research about moisture impact on NMC cathodes in Lithium-ion batteries and successfully proved the degradation of NMC after contact with moisture and found the Ni content of NMC as the decisive factor of such degradation. Over the summers, I took internships to enhance my skills. I did an intern in 2016 in Jabil, working on a DOE project about Injection Molding. The experience gave me a clear image of the manufacturing processes involved in large-scale productions. In 2018, I worked for Johnson Controls in a hardware team designing actuators for wind valve. I designed and analyzed the shaft and linkage for a new product. The biggest part of the internship was to prove the effectiveness of a proposed solution to the failure of a sector gear with life-testing and simulation. At the early stage of the life-testing, I found the conflict between the proposed solution and the product\'s functionality, which potentially saved a great amount of time and resources for the company. On July 1st, 2019, I started my full-time journey in ASML-HMI as a Mechanical Design Engineer. If you are interested in me, please don\'t hesitate to contact me for any further information!
