HTS is a transformative technology. It unlocks the pathway to commercial fusion energy and has enormous potential in other sectors including propulsion in water, air and space, renewable energy, medical and science.Tokamak Energy is recognised as a world leader in HTS magnet design, modelling and prototyping. My role is to lead our magnets business unit, in collaboration with manufacturing partners, to become a leading supplier of HTS for fusion and other emerging markets.What energises me is realising the positive real-world value of technology innovation. In my previous role as Head of Technology Transfer for the UK Research and Innovation Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), I led a team focussed on maximising the commercial opportunities arising from physical sciences research and oversaw the creation of two spinout companies.
