ABOUT LIAM ARNADE-COLWILL

Liam Arnade-Colwill is a Legislative Deputy in the Office of L.A. City Councilmember Nithya Raman. He graduated from the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs—a leadership development program for young professionals pursuing careers in public service—in May 2024. As a Coro Fellow, Liam partnered with Para Los Niños, Pallet Shelter, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health\'s Office of Violence Prevention, the Center for the Advancement of Racial Equity at UCLA, and L.A. Metro. Liam graduated from Tsinghua University in Beijing with a master’s degree in Global Affairs in June 2023. His co-authored thesis on China’s urban-rural health divide received the Schwarzman College Outstanding Capstone Award. Before earning his master’s, Liam was a special education teacher at a Title I school in Hawaiʻi and a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in Taiwan. Liam graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in history in May 2019. As an undergraduate, he advocated for refugees, expanded access to outdoor education for New Haven residents, worked with a nonprofit dedicated to training and supporting family childcare providers, and interned for Hawaiʻi Senator Brian Schatz and former President Barack Obama. Liam was awarded the Dwight Hall Distinguished Leadership Award for his service to the New Haven community.
