About Liam Ahn

I am a Senior at the University of Southern California pursuing a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, as well as a double minor in Cultural Anthropology and Law and Social Justice. It seems like a lot of topics, and that’s because it is; how else would I get everything I want out of college? I am currently interested in pursuing a career in public interest law. Although I am not certain as to which field I will find myself in, I am certain that I want to pursue a career in serving others.

   As a Housing Counseling Intern, I worked with the Housing Counseling Department to support tenants and occasionally landlords navigating housing rights issues throughout Los Angeles. Under the guidance of a supervising Housing Counselor, I learned the fundamentals of local and statewide landlord-tenant laws and became familiar with a wide range of housing resources.I answered calls from community members with questions about their rights and responsibilities as tenants, including topics like security deposits, evictions, repairs, rent increases, harassment, and fair housing violations. I also provided referrals to legal aid organizations, housing programs, and other community-based resources.
