About Lia Burchianti
Hello! I am a senior at American University studying Art History and Studio Art, graduating in Spring 2025. My research focuses on the Italian Renaissance, particularly the representation of women in religious art, with an emphasis on Mary Magdalene. I have worked in the American University Photo Lab for three years, serving as both a Teaching Assistant and Lab Manager, where I help students develop film, print in the darkroom, and refine their technical skills. I am also a Community Engagement Intern at Phillips@THEARC, assisting with arts education programs that connect local communities with The Phillips Collection. With a strong foundation in both art history and studio practices, I am excited to contribute to the field through research, presentations, and collaborative projects in the future.
