I am currently the Vice Principal and the summer school Principal for John F. Kennedy School, located in Newark, New Jersey. John F. Kennedy School is a special needs school that caters to students with multiple disabilities. I have 19 years of special education experience, approximately 12 years in the classroom and 7 years as an administrator. I was the department chairperson for a behavior program that consisted of 25 male students with behavior challenges who were unable to engage in learning in a traditional setting. I am currently responsible for overseeing teachers, para professionals and as well support staff. My duties include but are not limited to scheduling, observing, evaluating, conferencing, problem solving, community relations, professional development, coaching, staffing and budgeting.Student achievement is a priority as well as social and emotional growth. Throughout my career I have been instrumental in the academic improvement of my student as it relates to annual yearly progress and growth over time.
