ABOUT LILY LI
I\'m an experienced computational biologist who marries experimental and computational approaches to find the molecular mechanisms underlying regulatory DNA function. I\'m also an enthusiastic science communicator who has volunteered in programs to encourage students from middle schoolers to undergraduates to succeed in and join STEM fields and has presented my work at multiple national and international conferences. I also really love communicating through illustration; for example, I created my background photo to represent the scientific giants whose work my graduate research has been based on. From Rosalind Franklin\'s contribution to discovery of the structure of DNA, to Thomas Hunt Morgan\'s development of the fruit fly as a model organism, to Alan Turing\'s contribution to the development of the computer, I see my work as adding a small puzzle piece to a long line of puzzle pieces to build a picture of the world around us.
