Recent publication:\"A Stationary Ocean Platform\", OTC 29169. Arctic Technology Conference, Nov 5-7, 2018, Houston \"A Revised Interpretation of Vortex-Induced Vibration\", OTC 27550. Presentation on May 3, 2017\"Vortex-Induced Vibration: New Thinking\", 2014, published by Lee Dynamics, preview on lulu.com\"This book, authored by Li Lee, is mainly on vortex-induced vibration (VIV) research. The highlights are:(1) the effects of the structural stiffness and its variations on VIV are demonstrated with three sets of experimental data,(2) the discrepancies between the existing theories and the data are revealed, and (3) new theories on VIV are proposed. VIV design approach and design software are also briefly discussed.\"\"Floating Barriers\", U.S. Patent 8,807,869, Li Lee, August 19, 2014\"There is disclosed a floating barrier for installation in deep oceans for dampening winds, waves, and currents, and for containing oil spills. Applications of this invention include tsunami wave alleviation, storm protection, and oil spill containment.\"
