ABOUT LAWRENCE WILKINSON

Lawrence Wilkinson is Chairman of Heminge & Condell, an investment and strategic advisory firm, and co-founder of Global Business Network (GBN, pioneer of scenario planning). Through H&C, Lawrence is involved in venture formation work, and as a director and counselor to a number of companies/not-for-profits that he helped create. At the same time, he continues to offer strategic counsel to a number of corporate clients, NGOs, and governments around the world. A widely consulted and cited authority on strategic issues and on innovation, he is a frequent speaker in public, industry, and corporate settings, and is active in a variety of non-profit organizations. In 1998, Lawrence co-founded Oxygen Media, and served as Vice-Chairman (until it\'s sale to NBC-Universal). In 1994, Lawrence helped form, then served as Director and Chief Architect of Wired Ventures (WIRED Magazine). From 1984 to 1990, Lawrence was President of Colossal Pictures, an award-winning film, television, and digital entertainment production company. Lawrence has authored numerous publications and Harvard Business School case studies, ranging from \"Public Broadcasting in the U.S.\"(HBS Press) to THE CAMBRIDGE MILTON (Cambridge University Press). His pieces are anthologized widely, most recently in STRATEGY BITES BACK (ed, Henry Mintzberg; Prentice-Hall). He has produced and executive-produced numerous television programs, new media titles, and feature films, including the award-winning CRUMB. Lawrence is a graduate of Harvard Business School, Oxford University, and Davidson College. His non-profit involvements include Common Sense Media (co-founder and Vice-Chair), Institute for the Future (Chair), PRX (director) Long Now Foundation (strategic advisor), Internet Archive (strategic advisor).
