Family. That’s it. It’s what gets me up in the morning, is my last thought at night, and keeps me going all of the hours in-between. My Headline and Experiences tell you what I do, but I’d like to use this opportunity to share more about WHO I am.First and always, I’m the mom of two mega-awesome, crazy-busy boys. They are my all, as any mom would say. For many families, life is being defined as before, during, and hopefully, after COVID. •BEFORE, our evenings and weekends were filled with soccer and homework. •DURING the pandemic, life changed for us as it did for nearly everyone. I suddenly had to figure out how to manage at work while also having two kids at home who needed help with their virtual learning. •AFTER, well, as of this writing, we haven’t gotten to “after” yet. Time will tell, but one thing that I know for sure is that I will treasure the time I’ve had with my family during the trauma of shut down, masking, uncertainty, elections, more uncertainty, and…….(who knows what’s to come!)Speaking of uncertainty, COVID caused a great degree of angst within the workforce. I’m so grateful that my role at Acme Manufacturing continues and that they were flexible with my work schedule as I dealt with the boys, school, etc. I’m not at all surprised, though. Acme is a family-owned business in its 4th generation of leadership and has faced pandemics before.I’ve been at Acme for my entire professional career. They are my family in more ways than one. Having started as a receptionist, I’ve progressed as I learned from numerous mentors and found my way into Supply Chain and Logistics. Although a small business by definition, Acme has a global footprint. We make robotically integrated machines in Michigan and export them all over the world. We’re the leader in the metal removal industry. I’m proud of our work to help automate our customers’ Grinding, Polishing, Buffing & Deburring systems. COVID gave me time to think about what matters most. As I said, it’s all about family for me. I also realized that I’ve gravitated to a family business naturally. I grew up in a classic, family-owned, Italian restaurant business!    My leadership journey has been both rewarding and enriching. While growing in my abilities, I’ve been able to impact both Acme and our customers.I’m resourceful, organized, dependable, self-directed, detailed and efficiency/process-oriented. The challenge of managing the Supply Chain Operations for a company that does as much exporting as we do is right up my alley. I’m at my best when I’m busy and know that I’m making a difference.Some of my responsibilities are Sourcing, Negotiating, Buying, Managing Vendor Relationships, Material Control, Shipping/Receiving, and Inventory Management. I don’t do all of this on my own. I have an excellent team and the support of the entire Acme organization. Our department is the life-blood of the company.
