ABOUT ALEXANDRA FERNANDES

I am a dedicated and creative professional with a BAH in Film and Media from Queen\'s University. My journey through academia and career opportunities has fueled my passion for storytelling and communication, leading me to excel in the dynamic world of media. As a seasoned journalist, I have had the privilege of contributing to the vibrant world of broadcasting. My professional journey has been centered around my time at CFRC 101.9FM, the world\'s longest running radio station. Working as a journalist, I developed my skills in investigative reporting, storytelling, and on-air/online presentation. As the programs and operations manager, I was responsible for volunteer recruitment and training, teaching technical production skills, marketing and event strategies and execution, transforming our station\'s programming and engagement with students, alumni, and the greater community. I currently work as the marketing and communications manager at an award-winning business brokerage and M&A advisory firm, A R Business Brokers. I am also the Head of Marketing for the Women\'s Nonprofit Network, an incorporated non-profit aimed to empower, educate and connect women across the NPO space in Canada and beyond.
