I recently completed the new MRI Suite and Haematology and Oncology Unit, which includes relocating Lowen Ward at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. Located adjacent to the Trelawny Wing Main Entrance, this brand new 3-storey building houses an MRI scanning suite (with space for an extra scanner) and acute Haematology and Oncology services.Patients now benefit from an increase in designated cancer beds (24 beds). All Oncology beds are now located together on one ward on the same floor as the dedicated outpatient and day-case service for acute Oncology patients.I am continuing to lead the Nuclear Medicine Department reconfiguration project which will see the existing department modernised to meet current HTM guidance and ensure continued operational services to patients.Additionally, I am responsible for managing other projects such as the relocation of the Cardiac Dept, which is an enabling scheme for the Women and Children\'s Hospital, with other displaced services to relocate. I am also managing the resurrection of the new Outpatients Department at West Cornwall Hospital following the news that funding is available from NHSE.
