ABOUT LEWIS LAURENCE
I’m a hands-on, site-based electrical engineer with over 14 years of experience across HV infrastructure, substation construction, commissioning, and electrical installation. My career has taken me from wireman to engineering lead, and I currently manage on-site operations for one of the UK’s largest solar energy projects while actively performing 33kV switching and supporting commissioning operations.I hold a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, JIB Gold Card at Approved status, and certifications including HV Switching, 18th Edition, SMSTS, and EAL Level 3 Test & Inspect.I’ve worked on 33kV and 400kV substations, battery energy storage sites (BESS), data centres, and critical rail infrastructure — often acting as the bridge between design, site, and commissioning teams.
