Lead all aspects of finance organization for newly acquired Southern California Region with total annual projected revenues of $500M (multi-product line structure including aggregates, asphalt, paving, recycle and soils operations). • Lead business integration and process development for the new organization, establish documentation, training and reporting for all acquired functions. • Lead all budgeting and forecasting efforts, review and reporting for the SoCal Region. • Manage month-end close process and deadlines (journal entries, account reconciliations). • Assist with various corporate requests and inquiries, manage various approval processes (credit corrections, PO approval routes, community support/charitable contributions, new product setup, all system access for the Region, and many more). • Provide monthly financial results review and commentary to corporate leadership, with focus on deviations from budget/forecast/prior. • Ensure compliance with all accounting/financial internal controls. • Train operations on internal controls and SOX compliance requirements, supervise self-audits, lead training efforts and assist internal and external auditors with their audit efforts (provide supporting documentation, walkthroughs, management responses). • Work with vendors in helping identify gaps in the local AP practices and work towards process improvement with local teams and vendors to ensure best practices are clear and being followed on both sides. • Manage a team of 8 direct reports (accountants, billing clerks, and vendor specialists).
