ABOUT LESTTER CRUZ SERRANO

I am a physician with over 10 years of clinical practice and 4 years in observational, RCT Phase and intravenous therapy clinical trials, bringing extensive experience to the healthcare and Life Sciences industries. Positioned with a unique standpoint and understanding of the history, culture, sustainability, and organizational leadership structure, of 7 of the top 15 global biopharmaceutical companies (Merck, Pfizer, Roche/Genentech, Eli Lilly, Amgen, Bayer, and Boehringer Ingelheim). As the Head of Global Medical Affairs at Cognizant, I oversee Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Medical Devices verticals and lead strategic initiatives. My objectives are to enhance innovation and efficiency across the divisions by leveraging Medical Affairs strategies that improve the adoption and implementation of intelligent technology tools/platforms across site networks, academic centers, and research institutions. For the last 7 years, I have led the industry\'s first open SaaS platform, the Shared Investigator Platform (SIP), and have created a clinical ecosystem (with the addition of Cognizant’s Clinical System Connector) for biopharmaceutical companies and research sites, at multiple locations, for better sponsor-site collaboration. These initiatives implemented are geared for an effective investigator-sponsor interactions at major U.S. and international hospitals (Johns Hopkins, Columbia University, Dana-Farber Cancer Center, Institute, Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Yale University, NIHR-United Kingdom). As an industry author and speaker, I support Global Site Advocacy Groups, Industry Agreements with key industry organizations, regional press releases, and real users’ testimonials to foster Site-Sponsor collaboration. I focus on leveraging next-generation intelligent technology to improve patient outcomes and advance medical science. I aim to build a cohesive healthcare and research community, streamline operations for HCPs/Investigators and hospitals/research units, and provide actionable insights to address industry challenges. My goal is to promote innovative technological initiatives and transform the landscape of medical science and patient care outcomes.
