In his dual roles as a Design Director in Gensler\'s DC office and regional architecture design leader of the SE Region Hospitality practice, Lester conceptualizes projects across a wide range of scales and practice types. Whether he is considering the material details at a World Heritage site for The Farm Shop at Monticello or a new residential development in Doha he brings the same conceptual rigor and sensitivity of detail to each of his projects. His current interests include explorations of the cultural intersections and overlaps of the Hospitality, Workplace and Education practice areas at Gensler. Current projects include the KPMG Learning, Development and Innovation Facility in Orlando, the new Marriott Headquarters project in Bethesda, a Westin Hotel in Raleigh NC, a Hard Rock Hotel in Atlanta and a new residential community in Doha. Projects under construction include The HSPVA, The High School of Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX. Recently completed projects include The Farm Shop at Monticello in Charlottesville and the guestroom refresh at the Hyatt Regency Fair Lakes in Fairfax, VA. Significant completed projects include Deloitte University in Westlake TX, Hyatt Regency Galleria Hotel in Houston, Hotel Sorella in Houston, Stafford Centre of Performing Arts, The Woodlands Waterway Marriott and Convention Center, two corporate campuses for Halliburton and FMC Technologies in Houston, and a Classroom and Business School building at the University of Houston. In addition to his role as Design Director, Lester actively mentors young professionals at the beginning of their careers at Gensler and has supplemented this activity through his service as a Lecturer at the University of Virginia School of Architecture. Lester\'s work has been featured in Robert Stern\'s book New York and Metropolis Magazine, The New York Times, assemblage, Houston Chronicle, Urban Land, Space Journal and other publications.
