ABOUT LESLIE RODGERS

As a student on Purdue\'s campus, I\'ve been given the opportunity to expound upon my ardor for STEM and the uplifting of my community. Through my previous role as Secretary of University Residences Multicultural Connections and actively volunteering at local soup kitchens and shelters, I was and am able to improve my leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as interact with people directly and aid those in need. My involvement in Pediatric Pharmacy Education Ran by Students and APhA-ASP has provided the same latitudes. It is within these organizations that I can express my passion for spring-boarding the potential of children, increasing my appreciation of cultures outside of my own, and building the capacity of my community to thrive. I am equally as dedicated and passionate about the courses I take to achieve my goals. Starting my six-year journey out strong has awarded me entry into the academic honor society of Alpha Lambda Delta Phi Beta Sigma, and I have also been presented with an outstanding academic achievement award from the Black Caucus of Faculty and Staff. My goal as a future pharmacist is to actively increase the diversity of the healthcare workforce in an effort to proactively address health care disparities, whether they are racial, ethnic, geriatric, or socio-economic. Through my academic and personal experiences, the passion I have for this field has only grown larger and stronger, for I have only scratched the surface of where I want to be in the future and in my career. I look forward to continuing on this path to success as I enter into my fourth professional year in the PharmD program at Purdue!
