About Leslie Stahl Keaveney

I\'m a skilled planner and project manager with experience in federal and local policy, specifically in transportation, autonomous vehicles, urban growth, storm water, and housing. I am passionate about helping to create and implement policies and programs that promote more livable, resilient, and sustainable communities. I thrive in environments where I can help bridge conversations between technical experts and the rest of us, so we can apply innovative technological solutions to solve our most urgent problems. As a Senior Planner for the City of San Diego, I wrote innovative and ambitious housing policy to help developers provide much needed housing. I worked on zoning, land use planning, draft incentive programs, and community planning. My experience as a Community Planner for the U.S. Department of Transportation equipped me with a firm understanding of federal policies, specifically environmental policies (i.e, NEPA and CWA), and federal programs. In my early career as a public relations professional, I learned how to work efficiently in client services and how to write succinctly and with purpose. My policy and communications skills combined give me a unique perspective on how to navigate various stakeholder groups to get buy-in on innovative public policies and programs.
