About Leslie Sherlin
Dr. Sherlin has had an extensive career in patient services, academic research and instruction, and entrepreneurial ventures in mental health care. He is a leading expert in neuroscience for improving human performance, leading research with Red Bull North America’s High-Performance Center, USA Track & Field, US military Special Operations Forces, law enforcement agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and professional teams globally. His work is published in academic literature and featured in the Wall Street Journal, BBC, Sports Illustrated, CNN, ESPN, CBS, Popular Science, and Outdoor Magazine.Dr. Sherlin holds a BA in Psychology MS in Clinical Psychology (2003), PhD in Psychology (2008), PhD re-specialization and post-doctoral fellowship in Sport & Performance Psychology (2013), PhD in Clinical Pastoral Counseling (2017), MA in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy (2019), and an MA in Photography (2023).Dr. Sherlin provides clinical counseling and sport and performance psychology consulting to individuals, families, teams, and organizations through Sherlin Consulting Group, using evidence-based approaches tailored to each client.In academia, he has been Associate Dean of Academics, Lead Faculty for the BA in Psychology, and is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Ottawa University, Surprise, Arizona. He is Adjunct Faculty at Grand Canyon University, Affiliated Faculty at Fuller Theological Seminary, Adjunct Associate Professor at Sonoran University of Health Sciences and Southern New Hampshire University, and Adjunct Research Faculty at Northern Arizona University.In Dr. Sherlin co-founded Nova Tech EEG, Inc, providing training, evaluation services, and equipment/software for quantitative EEG analysis and imaging. In 2009, he co-founded Neurotopia, Inc.(dba SenseLabs), pioneering dry sensor technology and applications for mobile EEG and performance algorithms. His team assessed the brains of thousands of professional athletes, Olympians, and executives, creating a high-performance mobile EEG experience.Outside his professional pursuits, Dr. Sherlin is an amateur equestrian in dressage with his Dutch Warmblood, Electra KF, and Gypsy Vanner, Wynn Royalty Wins (Fin).
