Co-authored the book Consulting in a Multicultural America with Thad Spratlen, Detra Montoya and Michael Verchot published 2016 by UW Press. Developed and taught the course for 16 years, assisting over 50 emerging businesses and nonprofits. Course won a national award for community engagement.Conceived, founded and secured funding for Financial Education at BC in 2007. This center has reached over people at the workplace, in colleges and in the community and developed open source curriculum that was published by the Seattle Times and reached readers. Program was commended by Governor Gregoire as a model for the nation and selected as a best practice by the Department of Treasury.Program Chair and part of team that grew the Bellevue College Business Transfer Program to the largest in the state with 2400 declared majors and over 300 graduates per year. We have the highest annual admissions to the combined campuses of the University of Washington. Our alumni have gone on to USC, Georgetown, Stanford, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, UNC, UT Austin, University of Arizona, University of Hawaii, Purdue, McGill, University of Maryland, Babson, Boston College, and more.Authored the book Personal Investing, An Interactive Approach, published 2002 by South-Western, an interactive web and print book that addresses the savings crisis in America by teaching lay people how to save and invest.Selected for the 2016 Lockwood Award for Faculty Excellence and Innovation.
