About Leslie Hanson

As a Principal and Director of HKS’s Richmond, VA office, Leslie is responsible for directing and leadership for HKS projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.Leslie has devoted 37 years of healthcare architecture, with an emphasis on connecting nurturing business relationships throughout the nation. She has provided overall leadership on numerous transformational projects throughout the United States. Her projects have been honored with design awards from the Center for Health and Design, The International Academy for Design and Health, the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, American Society for Healthcare Engineers, and Modern Healthcare. Leslie engages an inclusive leadership approach which integrates multiple, interdisciplinary facets working towards the discovery of innovative design solutions for her clients. She focuses on design solutions which integrate a thoughtful balance of delightful human experiences with function and efficiency and a respect for the broader civic responsibility. She believes that through design we can achieve meaningful impacts on people and their communities.
