   The Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts is an accessible artist residency and retreat center dedicated to supporting the visual and literary artists of New York State. Application-based, stipend-supported one- to four-week residencies occur from June through October. Residencies are offered to five artists at a time and provide a quiet studio, a beautiful setting, time for inspiration, and a stimulating community of artists working in diverse disciplines.Specific residencies are offered to parent-artist/writers who have dependent children at home and to full-time caregivers. Shorter, free retreats are offered in February and April to local public school teachers. The Hupstate Residency is a collaboration with our local circus school, Circus Culture, and provides a free week-long residency each spring to New York State circus artists.Through the winter months, our individual suites are available for a modest nightly fee for self-directed flexible retreats on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests must be residents of New York State.
