ABOUT LESLEY ISARO

In my role as a research assistant supporting the Urban Just Transitions Research Cluster at University of Toronto Scarborough, I contributed to the production and dissemination of academic and policy-oriented research on the social and environmental impacts of just transition policy at the local level. I have two years of experience applying my critical thinking and collaborative skills to conduct literature reviews, data analysis, and report writing, as well as to in my efforts supporting and working with other researchers, partners, and stakeholders. Previously, I was an international fellow at Natural Justice, a non-profit organization that advocates for the rights and interests of marginalized communities in environmental decision-making. There, I supported the communication and outreach activities of the organization, such as creating newsletters, blogs, and social media posts, and engaging with various media outlets and platforms. I am also a recent graduate of the University of Toronto, where I earned an Honours Bachelor\'s degree in International Development Studies, with a focus on the intersections of environmental, social, and economic justice. I am incredibly passionate about learning and applying knowledge to address the complex and urgent challenges of our time, most pressingly the futur of cities, questions and challenges of inequality, and advocating for human rights and protections. My goal is to become a leader and a changemaker in the field of environmental advocacy and research.
