About Lesley Conn

As director of Research & Analysis at Space Foundation, I manage the four quarterly editions of The Space Report, its online resources and other data requests for the foundation. The Space Report provides in-depth insight on the space economy, workforce development, products and services, launches and many other aspects of the global space industry.From 2013 to late 2018, my career with Gulfstream Aerospace\'s Marketing Communications department offered the opportunity to develop new marketing brochures for the entire fleet of aircraft, to write technical papers on compliance issues and avionics advancements such as fly-by-wire and EVS while also providing content for a range of corporate collateral. As deputy editor of Nonstop magazine, a Gulfstream aviation and lifestyle publication, I produced feature articles on aviation, technology, art, history and travel while coordinating assignments for freelance writers and assisting with distribution and budgeting for the magazine. Nonstop is published in English and Chinese and, during my tenure, circulated to nearly readers in more than 150 countries.Prior to joining Gulfstream, I was an award-winning investigative reporter and editor at newspapers in Savannah, Ga, and Pensacola, Fla, working over the years as a metro editor, business editor, special projects writer, government and police reporter. In my last role, as a government reporter, I helped change Georgia\'s Open Records and Meetings laws by uncovering violations and pushing for openness in government. As a metro editor in Pensacola, I was part of team coverage that exposed illegal activities by the county commission, leading to the removal of four of five commissions. The newspaper was a runner-up for the Pulitzer Prize for community service reporting.
