ABOUT LESIA L. CRUMPTON-YOUNG

Dr. Lesia Crumpton-Young is the Acting Section Head of America\'s Seed Fund within the Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships Directorate at the National Science Foundation. Dr. Lesia L. Crumpton-Young served as the 13th President of Texas Southern University. Also, Dr. Young serves as the founding President and CEO of Transformative Enterprises Corporation and served as the President and CEO of The Greatness Gurus Corporation. Dr. Lesia Crumpton-Young is a transformational executive whose30-year career integrates strategic leadership, technology, engineering, and governance to drive measurable growth and institutional excellence.President Crumpton-Young received her B.S, M.S, and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University where she was the first African American female to receive a Ph.D. in engineering. Previously, President Crumpton-Young held the positions of Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Morgan State University; Vice President for Research and Institutional Advancement at Tennessee State University; Program Director at the National Science Foundation; Associate Provost at Texas A&M University; Associate Dean of Engineering at Mississippi State University (MSU); Professor and Department Head of the Industrial Engineering and Management Systems Department at the UCF; and Department Chairman position at UCF. Drawing on a distinguished record across multiple universities, she has led complex academic, research, and administrative portfolios—strengthening institutional performance, digital transformation, and fiscal decisions across diverse environments.President Crumpton-Young is an experienced, innovative, and accomplished executive leader with a firm understanding of higher education who has strategically and intentionally positioned institutions by implementing transformative initiatives to ensure organizational success. Dr. Crumpton-Young has authored more than one hundred publications focused on engineering, leadership, and innovation incomplex organizations, earning national recognition including the Houston Business Journal Visionary Award, STEM Innovators Award, and Outstanding Women of Color in Science and Technology Award and the recipient of the US Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM).
