I am Director of a new online Master\'s degree in \'Professional Development: Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology\'. The MSc explores such questions as to what extent spirituality might play a key role in psychological growth, happiness and personal well-being and fullfilment, as well as asking how cutting-edge research in consciousness studies might enhance motivation, performance and effectiveness in people and organisations. Centrally the MSc has been designed to address questions that concern our potential as fully-engaged humans. We explore major areas of research that are rapidly changing the orientation of psychology, culture and society more generally, bringing the quest for meaning and transpersonal experience to the heart of academic and applied professions. The degree is run by the Alef Trust in conjunction with the Scientific and Medical Network and the Professional Development Foundation, and it is validated by Middlesex University. ABOUT LES LANCASTER
B. Les Lancaster is Emeritus Professor of Transpersonal Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University, Honorary Research Fellow in the Centre for Jewish Studies at Manchester University, and part of the Adjunct Faculty at Sofia University and the California Institute of Integral Studies. He is currently Chair of the Transpersonal Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society, and President of the International Transpersonal Association, as well as a member of the Society of Consciousness Studies. Les’ research interests focus on the cognitive neuroscience of consciousness and the psychology of mysticism, with a specific focus on Kabbalistic Psychology. He has practiced and taught forms of kabbalistic practice for thirty-five years. Over his career, Les has disseminated key aspects of consciousness studies and transpersonal psychology to a wide audience, both academic and more popular. He is committed to the value of transpersonal perspectives in a range of professional areas, including coaching, therapy and management, and is presently Academic Dean for Transpersonal Psychology at the Professional Development Foundation, UK. In addition to many journal articles, Les’ published works include Mind Brain and Human Potential, winner of a Science and Medical Network Best Book Award, The Elements of Judaism, Approaches to Consciousness: the Marriage of Science and Mysticism, and The Essence of Kabbalah.
