About Leroy Watson
I am a hard working and very dedicated to the safety of all. I am an extremely experienced safety Professional that believes any job can be done safely using risk management techniques and people taking the time to care. I have spearheaded Change of Management Process, OHSAS, Continuous Improvement, 5S and many other safety programs. I have led major change and development in fall protection using a realistic user based system and using non-corrosive elements. I have created auditing and mock MSHA inspection programs. I created and led safety committees. I championed the Near Miss Program quadrupling the number of Near Misses turned in within 3 years. Besides the listed projects are several other projects that I either did safety or other forms of supervision on. These include large pipeline projects, smelter shutdowns, acid plant shut downs, glass plant rebuilds, set up and run cyanide gold extraction plant, power plant rebuilds and more. I have worked as a millwright, production and construction underground miner and Quality Control. I have worked on MSHA, OSHA and Corp of Engineers Projects. I did the regulatory permit set up of a small family mine from beginning to ready for exploration. I Worked part time on the local ambulance and 20 years on a volunteer fire department. I have experience with MSHA, OSHA, Corp of Engineers, ATF, DOT, EPA and State Mine Inspectors Offices.Surface and underground MSHA InstructorFormer Firefighter/EMT/American Heart and Red Cross Instructor.
