ABOUT LEONIA RATAJCZAK

I am a researcher with a background in applied research and policy work across the public sector. I hold a PhD focused on smart and sustainable cities, with research centred on governance, partnerships, and how digital innovation can support long-term decision-making.My work involves designing and carrying out research that helps organisations understand complex issues and make informed choices. I have experience working with large and varied evidence bases, engaging with stakeholders, and turning research findings into clear reports, recommendations, and business cases that can be used in practice.I have worked across areas including economic development, infrastructure, health, climate action, and innovation, often supporting programmes from early design through to delivery. Alongside my research work, I bring experience in change management, project delivery, and leading teams, which helps ensure that research is grounded in organisational realities and can be implemented effectively.
