I am a multifaceted executive with decades of experience orchestrating the financial performance and operational excellence of one of the largest privately-held companies in the state. To make the greatest impact, I contribute to every part of the company’s overall decision-making so I can deeply understand how we make decisions, how we drive change, and how we can be more effective.After earning my Chartered Accountant title and beginning my career in a Big Four accounting firm, I took an executive role at a steel distribution company. As the most prominent financial advisor and “face of the company” for many of our business partners and vendors, clear communication is one of the most important contributions I make to the business. When all parties—both outside and within the organization—understand our priorities, we are all empowered to do our best work, solve operational problems, and trust each other to do the same. Career Highlights: NEGOTIATED JOINT OWNERSHIP: Upon joining the executive team at DuBose, I mediated a conflict between the two owners (51% and 49%), negotiated equal ownership between them, and then organized a management buyout among the lead investor (70%) and three owners (10% each). With this change, we began the company’s longest continuous ownership team, eventually leading to its successful sale in 2018. ESTABLISHED EFFICIENT OPERATIONS: Although my title was VP of Finance, I also played a role in building and managing the company’s end-to-end operation from raw material procurement and transport all the way to data analytics, client relations, and HR. EMPOWERED COMPANY GROWTH: During a key investment period, I focused our efforts on updating facilities and equipment, which limited our growth potential. I connected with two new banking partners and refinanced the organization to secure new capital. With the new equipment, we nearly tripled our loan facility in just a few years.
