Leo Chu is an award-winning showrunner, writer, and executive producer best known for creating groundbreaking YA & family comedies and global animé hits. With a career spanning Disney, Netflix, Paramount, Nickelodeon, and Warner Bros, his projects include Supah Ninjas, Afro Samurai, Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion, Alexa & Katie, and Batman Ninja – earning multiple Emmy and WGA Award nominations plus landmark wins. He began his career as VP of Creative Affairs at Walt Disney Animation, shepherding such iconic films as Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, Toy Story, and Finding Nemo, and later served as Head of Animation at Spike/MTV Networks. Committed to mentoring the next generation, Leo founded and co-chairs the CAPE New Writers Fellowship and is a contributing architect of the WGA’s Writers Access Project and Leadership Training Program. A Stanford alum and passionate storyteller, he always brings a fresh creative spark – and a love of pie – to every project.
