ABOUT LEO DONNECKE
I am a Bachelor of Science in Economics at the University of Victoria with a strong passion for environmental studies. My coursework has consisted of researching a wide range of policies and issues, including determining the impacts of revoking a provincial EV rebate to finding ways BC’s guardian watchman program can remain economically sustainable. In addition to courses which have built my writing skills, I have also tackled a wide range of quantitative courses, giving me experience with statistical programs such as R-studios, Eviews, Excel, and Python. These courses have helped me become numerically inclined and deal with the challenges of working with real-world data. My hope is to be able to play a role in making a meaningful contribution to help solve the problems we face. Connections and an amazing community have propelled my drive to be curious throughout my coursework, and I’m motivated to make a positive impact in my community. Outside of coursework, my passions include teaching, leading adventures with the uvic outdoors club, and advanced running.
