Domain Expert, Accessibility & Inclusive Design @Aetna, A Cvs Health Company
Denver, CO, US
Led the accessibility initiative that positioned the Aetna Health iOS app as the first product in its class — and among the first across multiple business verticals — to meet all 9 of Apple\'s Accessibility Nutrition Labels at their 2025 launch. The achievement demonstrated enterprise accessibility maturity and created a tangible competitive differentiator in national sales conversations.* Matured the enterprise accessibility defect reporting and workflow infrastructure, establishing distinct resolution paths for design, design system, content, and engineering defects. Reduced average resolution time from weeks to days, with 70% of defects now resolved within one week and an average of 1 design defect per end-to-end test — a benchmark that significantly outperforms most industry-standard SDLCs.* Leading a cross-functional initiative to assess WCAG 3 organizational impact and readiness, preparing teams, workflows, tooling, and reporting infrastructure to meet emerging provisions ahead of formal adoption — and positioning the new conformance model as a strategic differentiator.* Regularly present accessibility requirements, compliance risk assessments, and inclusive design solutions to VP and C-suite leadership, directly informing brand positioning in national sales conversations and contributing to trade press coverage.* Champion an accessibility-first approach with design and product leadership, embedding inclusive design thinking early in the feature development process. Features designed for the margins consistently deliver better experiences for all users — and have become a reliable source of competitive advantage in the market.* Mentor and upskill designers, managers, and senior leaders alike in accessibility principles, lived human experience insights, and pragmatic inclusive product strategies — building organizational capacity for inclusive design at every level of the business.

ABOUT LEN BEASLEY
Designing for the margins makes better products for everyone. That belief has guided 25 years of work across startups and Fortune 10 companies — and it\'s what drives me to build accessibility and UX operations practices that go well beyond compliance to create genuine competitive advantage. At Aetna/CVS Health, I\'ve led the accessibility maturity journey for one of the nation\'s largest health platforms — developing the operational infrastructure that makes sustainable, enterprise-scale accessibility possible. That means operating models, design system integration, defect workflow systems, audit processes, and the reporting that translates it all into executive conversations leadership can act on. My credentials go deep. I\'m a CPACC-certified accessibility practitioner, an active member of the W3C Accessibility Guidelines Working Group and Cognitive Accessibility Task Force, and a former faculty member in the Masters of Design program at the University of Colorado. I\'ve helped shape accessibility standards before they become the standards. My approach is pragmatic: I reduce costs, upskill teams, and build the operational frameworks that transform accessibility from a liability into a product differentiator. Whether growing WCAG adoption across a global product ecosystem, building inclusive research programs, or presenting compliance strategy to C-suite leadership, I bring the depth of a practitioner and the perspective of a strategic leader. The best accessible experiences feel invisible — natural, intentional, and effortless for every user. That\'s what I help organizations build.
