ABOUT LEITA BLASETTI

I am an experienced career development professional, passionate about connecting people with the help they need. Currently, I work with both youth, aged 15-24, and employers. I believe in an employer driven approach to my work; finding the right job seeker for the job. As a Certified Career Development Professional, I keep my counselling skills current, follow labour market trends and offer informed advice. For the last 15 years, I have promoted the benefits of hiring youth and developed relationships with local employers. I lend my expertise through partnerships with other career development organizations as well as with employer groups. In the past, I have worked in supported employment with people who have developmental disabilities in both urban and rural settings. Through both these experiences, I have created and maintained relationships with employers. I have also had the experience of supervising small teams and fostering a self-directed environment. Over the years, I have been passionate about whatever my current role is. I embrace change and new experiences, diving in, and learning what I need to excel at my job. My favourite career development theory is Planned Happenstance, and I firmly believe that has driven my career path. I always seem to have the right elements to change course in my career, building off my education and experience.
