ABOUT LEILA SAFI
Environmental professional with previous experience in the water, highways and construction industries, holding an MSc (Distinction) in Geoscience. Recently returned from a solo trip around the world.Previously, the Environmental Advisor for Milestone Infrastructure at Hinkley Point C, where we are responsible for the site\'s roads and networks, as well as pedestrian and green spaces. I ensured the environment was best protected within all civils and maintenance projects, both onsite and at our associated development sites, and maintained compliance whilst pushing for innovation.My master\'s thesis explored >30 elements from a deep-sea nodule mining perspective, as well as its potential environmental impacts. My undergraduate thesis investigated the accumulation of microplastics on beaches. I have a particular interest in: sustainable food systems, environmental change, soil science, conservation, and marine pollution and mining, as well as current affairs and politics. I am also passionate about human and animal rights.
