La Clinica de Familia Early Head Start (LCDF-EHS) is a federally funded community-based program for low-income families with infants, toddlers, and pregnant women. Our purpose is to enhance children’s physical, social-emotional, language and intellectual development; to assist parents in fulfilling their parental role as their child’s first teacher; and to help parents move toward self-sufficiency. To qualify you must reside within Las Cruces Public Schools District, and meet the income guidelines. LCDF-EHS services are provided both in a classroom setting (Center-Based Services) and through weekly scheduled visits with the child and their parent or guardian in the home (Home-Based Services). Services to Expectant Moms are provided through regularly scheduled visits in the home.

With over seven years of experience as an Independent Consultant and extensive leadership in early childhood education, I currently serve as the Early Head Start Director at La Clinica De Familia. My work focuses on supporting families with infants, toddlers, and pregnant women by enhancing children’s development and empowering families through evidence-based education initiatives. At La Clinica de Familia, our team emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices and builds community partnerships that prioritize equity and leverage family strengths. My mission is to advance systems and strategies that support young children and their families, fostering sustainable and meaningful change.
