Writers\' Residency Founder Program Director

Created Linden Place Writers\' Residency program, a no-cost daytime only writing residency through the month of April that annually supports 8 diverse writers in the creation of new fiction and non-fiction works. Projects are chosen based on social impact as well as merit of writing. The writers work must interface with Linden Place\'s history in some way.• Write grants and facilitate other funding streams.(Supported by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts.)• Curate a judging panel of esteemed writers and facilitate the selection process.• Work with our curator of archives and local historic society to gather research resources for writers-in-residence.• Provide point of contact and support for writers in residence.• Organize a moderated community discussion of works in progress to showcase writers as well as facilitate conversation on various aspects of museum\'s history including the enslavement, servitude, labor issues, gender discrimination, and more.• Forge connections with community partners (Roger Williams Univ, What Cheer Writers Club, School One, Manton Ave Project, and Bristol Historical and Preservation Society) to support with outreach and facilitate a public-facing month of writing-related programming.• Write press and social media materials, and coordinate outreach for publicity.
