It is expected to unlock £8.2 billion of private investment and support more than 3,400 jobs, while building out 500MW of AI ready data centre capacity alongside renewable energy and innovation infrastructure over the next five years.At a time when access to power and scalable infrastructure is becoming a defining factor in AI development, this is about creating the foundations the UK needs to compete globally, not just in building AI, but in hosting and scaling it. It is a meaningful step towards positioning the UK as a serious destination for AI infrastructure, investment and long term innovation.
