ABOUT LEIGH JENKS FSENG
I am a highly motivated and competent CE & I Engineer working within the nuclear industry who is able to deliver projects from concept through to installation and commissioning. Through my Safety Engineering (nuclear) MSc and current job role I have gained a wide range of knowledge in functional safety and the application of BS EN 61508, BS EN 61511 and BS EN 61513. I am able to work within a multidiscipline team and understand mechanical concepts making the electro-mechanical integration easier. I am an accredited functional safety engineer through TUV Rheinland,(12543/16, SIS).My future aspirations are to grow as a CE & I functional safety engineer and apply the skills I have learnt along the way to manage and deliver interesting projects within the nuclear decommissioning, new build and production sector.Knowledge gained through my MSc at Lancaster University includes but is not limited to human factors, risk analysis, design of safety critical systems and the control of high hazard processes. The course covers both conventional and functional safety within the nuclear industry. This is from lessons learnt through nuclear accidents as well as nuclear fundamentals and designs.
