ABOUT LEE SMYTH

I have over 25 years of experience in planning, design, engineering and site management of SCADA/Sub-station Control System projects. I have also acted within an owner\'s engineer capaciy in a consultantcy role.Presenly I work for Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks) as the SCADA Manager based at its Distribution Control Centre (DCC).Working within a small specialised team, core duties are maintaining and integrating RTUs (primary sub-stations and renewables) onto the distribution system, managing the SCADA Master Station platform and providing DCC support.Up until December 2011 I worked as the Resident Engineer (SCADA & Telecoms) for ESB International in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Main responsibilities were working on, and site management of a telecoms project, wall display system project for the LDC and daily SCADA related works within 220kV and 66kV sub-station switchgear projects.Prior to ESBI, I worked as a Project Engineer for Microsol Ltd (now Ziv Automation). Various projects for customers in Sudan, Syria, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Great Britain were among job responsibilities during my time there. I also successfully completed a large Distribution Control Centre (DCC) RTU project in Northern Ireland and multiple projects in the Republic of Ireland. Other utility experience includes the water industry.
