About Leela Menon

My passion for creating a sustainable future through the development and deployment of renewable energy generation and battery storage systems stems from my Environmental Engineering background. My career experience carried me from a focus on late-stage battery storage development to early stage land acquisition work. At New Leaf Energy, I found my stride by creating a new role for myself based on the needs of the business: Utility-Scale Development Operations Analyst. In this role, I focused on creative, data-driven problem solving in order to serve my team as best as possible. In my next role, I\'m hoping to continue growing those skills in service of the organization\'s mission.

1. Interconnection Project Manager, Utility-scale

   New Leaf Energy, Inc.

   Aug 2025 — Present

   I lead critical path planning for the interconnection study process in MISO and SPP. This includes managing schedules through ISO decision points, understanding what cards need to be turned over via project diligence between interconnection milestones, and facilitating cross-functional communication internally, and with the ISO, transmission owners and consultants. My role requires a proactive mindset and looking around the corner to anticipate next steps.
