As Deputy Manager in Endoscopy, I assist with the daily operations of a high-performing endoscopy unit, combining clinical expertise with strong leadership to deliver safe, effective, and patient-focused care. I work closely with consultants, nurses, and the wider MDT to ensure the service runs smoothly and meets both clinical and operational targets.Key Responsibilities:• Manage day-to-day coordination of endoscopy lists, staffing, and resource allocation• Support and mentor practitioners, nurses, and support staff to maintain high professional standards• Ensure full compliance with JAG accreditation and infection prevention protocols• Oversee equipment readiness, decontamination standards, and liaise with clinical engineering• Act as the first point of escalation for clinical and operational concerns• Contribute to quality improvement projects, audits, and patient safety initiatives• Lead on staff training, inductions, and continuous professional development• Collaborate on endoscopy pathway development, capacity planning, and service transformationMy role allows me to combine frontline clinical knowledge with strategic input, shaping the direction of our service while always keeping patients at the heart of what we do.
