About Dakota Lee
I once heard “if you do something to love, you never work a day in your life.” Over the past three years I have had the honor of being a Recovery Diving Supervisor for the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency where I innovate underwater recovery methods necessary for bringing home our nation’s missing service members from past conflicts. This mission cultivates a global effort among the Department of Defense, foreign nationals, and private ventures aimed at bringing closure to families, loved ones, and ultimately fulfilling our nation’s promise. As an engineer diver, my seven year journey has taken me all over the U.S, the Middle East, and the Pacific conducting waterborne engineering tasks that support government, environmental, and humanitarian efforts. Through this I gained five years of experience leading $6M + maintenance programs responsible for repair and sustainment of diving life support equipment, construction tools, survey equipment, and small engines. I also dealt heavily in property management, logistics, equipment purchase contracts, project management, and utilized a diverse array of waterborne engineering techniques for surveying, inspection, and construction. Operating within a small team environment for the past seven years has also allowed me to develop effective leadership and communication skills, cultivate an equal opportunity environment, refine conflict resolution techniques, and prove myself to be a dependable team player. My attention to detail, safety, and risk mitigation has enabled me to achieve results in stressful, multi-faceted situations where I can apply my optimistic and holistic approach to the problem or task at hand.As a lifelong learner I focus on optimizing my physical and mental health to be the best human I can be. I am passionate about family, the outdoors, and creating genuine connections with lifelong memories.
