I hold the position of health and safety practitioner after gaining over 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, nuclear and construction sectors, working in line with the requirements and standards of principal contractors including Conoco Phillips, E on, Shell, Simon Carves, Vivergo and Air Products My work encompasses a wide range of health, safety and environmental services, incorporating planning, strategic policy making, and provision of internal safety systems. Committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of employees in the working environment through the reduction of residual risk inherent in processes and operational tasks whilst maintaining a positive attitude to risk management. I firmly believe a key requirement of a HSE advisors role is to influence behavioural safety which I achieve through promoting good communication systems and hands on delivery. My short term goals involve becoming Chartered Member of IOSH via undertaking a continual professional development programme. My long term goals include working towards an MSc in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management to compliment my existing academic qualifications.
