Associate Director of IT at Formula 1 Driving technical innovation across global IT infrastructure About meI began my career in 2003 as a Dialup Networking Technician for a national Internet Services Provider. In 2004 I joined the IT Department at The Royal Mint where I managed the data networks of both office and heavy manufacturing environments. Working in conjunction with the project team responsible for shop floor automation I was able to hone my skills with the real-time data networks of the manufacturing plant and shop floor data collection systems. In 2007 I took the opportunity to join the Computing department at Formula 1, where I specialised in the IT Infrastructure for Racing Systems and TV Broadcast. During my tenure at Formula 1 I’ve consulted as a Subject Matter Expert on many strategic projects including the Standard Communications System that delivers On-Board Camera and Telemetry from the cars; the introduction of AWS and cloud computing; the leap to Remote Production and Operation; and the refurbishment of the Technical and Production facilities at the F1 Media & Technology Centre. Fast-forward through 18-years filled with opportunities and a proven track-record of delivering reliable infrastructure with technical innovation, today I am the Associate Director of IT.As Associate Director of IT at Formula 1, I lead the teams behind the global technical infrastructure of Formula 1 - delivering performance, innovation, and reliability both on and off the track.
