ABOUT LEE PUTNAM
Growing up in Rapid City, SD I was surrounded by music. My father plays the violin, or more commonly know in that territory as the \"fiddle\". Being around music 24/7 had a strong influence on me. Naturally my first major decision was learning to play the drums. I played for many years, then I decided the drums just weren\'t heavy enough, so I started learning about becoming a live sound engineer. Just kidding, I had a band and we ended up running our own sound system, so I took on the task of learning all the ins and outs. Ever since that moment audio has been my passion! After graduating high school, I moved to Orlando, FL to study Audio Recording. While in school I had the chance to meet Mastering Engineer Bob Katz. He invited me to intern at his studio. After being an intern for a little over a year, Bob offered me a position as his Mastering Assistant. I held that position for almost a year when I decided Florida wasn\'t for me. After saying my good byes, I packed up my Ford Ranger and hit the road for Colorado. On my way, I stopped by South Dakota for a few months and worked as a field recording for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. They hired me to do live recordings of different orchestras over the summer. Once that project was finished my next stop was Fort Collins, CO. I search for a job in a studio, but could only find un paid internships. So I grabbed the first paying job I could find, which was Guitar Center. Giving me the opportunity to meet many local musicians and wonderful people. During my time at Guitar Center I started a small recording/ mastering facility called Rockfan Records. Which eventually became an AV Rental company called Rockfan Entertainment. After my time with Guitar Center, I moved on to work with Pro Tech Marketing until summer of 2019. I moved full time to Rockfan to focus on growing the business and developing our integration devision. I feel very lucky that I get to work in an industry that I am personally so passionate about.
