Purpose: Provide and execute vision and strategy for running of Depot. Explore and implement commercial opportunities that add value.• Manage, mentor and develop Depot Manager for the purpose of succession planning.• Overall responsibility for 13 managers and ~400 staff, of which ~18% are agency.• Full accountability for depots P&L ~ £97M• Successfully integrated three operations and managed the TUPE process for DPD Local back into the main DPD network in 2018, 2019, and 2022.• Directed daily operations to achieve maximum output and reduce costs without compromising service levels.• Key player in recruitment of senior management. Assisted and advised on training schedules and performance management to the senior team to build a results-focused team.• Orchestrated 15% increase ~£400K stop cost efficiency through restructuring and realignment of postcodes.• Oversee sortation and delivery of parcels on time and cost for ~20M packages annually. Produced operational and administrative procedures establishing controls.• Spearheaded contract negotiation with multi-route service providers, obtaining favourable terms for quality, cost and delivery requirements.• Launched the first sustainable electric fleet in 2019, comprising 70 vehicles and delivering 2 million parcels. Increasing electric fleet to franchises, achieving a 37% conversion V target of 30%. Significantly reducing carbon footprint, which is in line with business strategy.• Developed lasting relationships with employees, peers, upper management and outside vendors.• Used trend data and financial forecasts to establish accurate budgets aligned with operational needs to achieve final mile and warehouse unit cost targets.• Instilled a strong ethos of Health and Safety for the workforce, achieving excellence in all audits. Developed close relationships with HSE.• Collaborated closely with the Depot Manager, adjusting pick-up and delivery schedules with changing consignment volumes.
