About Lee L. Kaplan
I am a law partner ar a boutique firm. I try lawsuits and arbitrations and serve as an arbitrator. After clerking for a Fifth Circuit judge in 1976-77, I became a partner in a large Houston firm. In 1995 I co-founded a boutique firm and practiced there nearly 29 years. In 2024 we founded a new firm.I have tried dozens of cases in state and federal courts, for plaintiffs and defendants, with clients ranging from Fortune 10 corporations to individuals. My docket includes contract disputes, patent infringement, oil and gas, fraud, antitrust, and theft of trade secrets-as well as service as an arbitrator. Some of my jury trials on the plaintiff\'s side yielded 8- and 9-figure results. I have also defended large cases and obtained winning verdicts.I particularly enjoy the challenge of mastering complicated business arrangements or scientific concepts so I can present them concisely to other lay people (particularly judges and juries), or as an arbitrator seeking the essentials of the dispute. I have been selected for 20 consecutive years as a Texas \"SuperLawyer\"(from its first publication), the last few years in the Top 100 in Houston, and have been listed for at least the last eight years in Chambers USA, Leading Lawyers for Business. In 2019 I was named as one of Texas\' Top 100 Lawyers by SuperLawyers (I take that with a grain of salt.)I am proud of my talented, tenacious and thorough colleagues. I am also the proud husband of a retired corporate lawyer who works with nonprofits. As an Eagle Scout and the proud father of a 33-year-old Eagle Scout, I enjoy working with Troop 212 at St. James Episcopal Church, where I have mentored young men on the trail to Eagle.
